How much is this going to cost me?
Depending on what kind of work we are doing depends whether we work on an hourly rate or a fixed fee. Most small sole traders are completed on a fixed fee and I am told my charges are very reasonable (usually from £150.00). For bookkeeping work an hourly rate would apply, this way you only pay for the time I'm working - I timesheet to five minute increments so you never overpay.
For larger company bookkeeping a fixed fee would be agreed based on a few months hourly rate.
Payroll is completed on an hourly rate which seems to work out alot cheaper for employers than a cost per employee, per starter, leaver etc!

My receipts are in a carrier bag is this ok?
Absolutely! I've had receipts in carrier bags, shoes boxes and scrunched up in people's hands (as they drag them from their glove box!), as long as they are legible I don't really care how you have been keeping them as long as you get them to me.

I have no idea what I'm doing.
You aren't alone! I expect you know your trade though (which I'm pretty sure I wouldn't know how to do!). I have the patience of a saint and can answer the same questions over and over again until you know what you need to know and I can deal with the rest.

How hard is to move from one accountant to you?
It's easy. Once you have instructed me, I will contact your current accountant for clearance and to ask for papers and submissions relating to previous years to be forwarded to me. Your accountant (should) contact you and ask whether it is ok to give them to me. Hey presto, done!

I'm really busy I don't have time for loads of meetings.
Totally hear you! You are running a business after all. I like to have one meeting face to face - it's important for you (and me) to know who we are working with. After that, everything can be done digitally, telephone, messages, whatsapp, facebook, signal - whatever works for you! I offer appointments from early morning to late evening and weekends to fit in with you. Depending on the software we are going to use we may be able to utilise Receiptbank for the upload of receipts and invoices (so you never have to see me again!)

Will you judge me?
This might seem a really bizarre FAQ but I have clients concerned because they've literally chucked ALL their receipts in a bag I'll see how many McDonalds they've eaten, or how many chocolate bars they buy with their fuel or the random stuff they buy in Tesco. Seriously, apart from being very jealous at the amount of chocolate you are eating, what you actually buy if it isn't business related goes straight over my head!

Where did the name 'Nero' come from?
If you follow my Nero page on facebook (please do!) you will have seen that Nero is my labrador. He was born in 2010 which was the same year that I started this business. He is a typical labrador, loves food and is incredibly naughty but he is also my companion, my office dog and my protector. Despite being incredibly well trained, he is rubbish at dog agility and does his own thing!
